I do not use a studio, no backdrops, no major lighting equipment. I prefer to use natural light for my subjects as you get a much nicer result without the harsh lighting of flash photography.
I also prefer not to do many "posed" photos. My favorite way to capture those precious moments is to photograph everyday life. I tell my clients to just "pretend that I am not here." Let the kids play, let the babies sleep, let the flower girl play with her dress. I like to sit back and catch the moments where the subject doesn't even know I am taking their picture. This kind of "photojournalism" really captures the true emotions and personalities of the subject, not just a cheesy smile in a stiff pose.
If there is something special that you would like to do, I would be happy to do that for you. Props such as toys, bubbles, puppys,or a favorite blanket are great too, since they take the childs mind off the camera.
The location of the photo shoot can be your home, a park, or anywhere you choose to capture your memories.
